I didn't set out to build a marketplace. I set out to solve a problem. After spending more than 15 years working in agriculture, animal welfare, feed manufacturing, and food safety, I saw something that became impossible to ignore. Some of the best food in our communities was coming from small and mid-sized producers, yet many remained invisible because they couldn't compete with the marketing budgets, distribution networks, and visibility of larger companies. At the same time, consumers wanted to support local agriculture but had no simple, trusted way to discover who was producing food in their own communities.
